On Saturday, 10 September, from 10 a.m. until noon, at Parkview Gardens, across from Blanchette Park in St. Charles MO, eleven authors will be selling and signing books. I have participated in this event twice before and the Gardens does an excellent job, provides an excellent setting, and I am expecting another excellent turnout. The weather promises to be, what else, excellent.
And I may contribute a verse.
I’m pretty sure that’s why I write.
Contributing a verse, though, in the Whitman sense, is done through acting your part in the powerful play.
Born this date. Died too soon on that.
We all contribute that verse.
I made a retreat at a local Jesuit center a couple of weekends ago. One of the messages I took away from there this time is that
We are not what we do, rather, we are our circle of friends.
Thanks, friends, for the verses you plugged into me to recite in my role in the powerful play.
